Rebecca
C. Adams (Visual/Sound Artist) is a DC area artist, musician,
and visual arts educator. She holds a B.A. in Fine Art and a
minor in music from Smith College, and she trained at the Rhode
Island School of Design in the Sculpture Department. She is
a member of the Public Art Committee for the Alexandria Commission
for the Arts (ACA) as well as the Art the Waterfront subcommittee
and Stakeholders Advisory Group for the Charles Houston Memorial
Art Project. Over the past three years Rebecca's 3D work was
exhibited at Artworks (Richmond, VA), and she participated video
and sound pieces at the Contemporary Artists Center (North Adams,
MA), the Black and White Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), ArtDC (DC),
and Transformer (DC). She continually pursues efforts to build
the avant-garde music community in the DC Metro Area, including
curatorial involvement in D.C.'s annual Sonic Circuits experimental
music festival. semblance is Rebecca's first project

Daniel
Burkholder (Performing Artist/Director) is a dancer, improviser,
teacher and Artistic Director of The
PlayGround, a movement-based improvisational group. His
work has been shown throughout DC and the MidAtlantic States,
New York City and San Francisco. He has collaborated with Sharon
Mansur since 1992,
and their most recent appearance was performing
the improvisational duet Present Tense at Winona State
University, MN in February 2007.
Kitty
Clark (Performing
Artist) is a modern dancer, choreographer, educator, and producer
based in Shepherdstown, WV, in the state's eastern panhandle.
Over the last 10 years, she has spearheaded many projects that
have aimed to make contemporary dance and performance accessible
to a broader audience. Kitty is the founder/director of the
Goose Route Arts Collaborative,
Inc. which produces the Goose Route Dance Festival every
July in Shepherdstown and through which she teaches dance to
adults and children. Kitty also teaches dance at Shepherd University.
Kitty was named the 2006 winner of the Governor's Award for
Arts Innovator in the state of WV. She holds a Master of Fine
Arts degree in dance from Smith College. Kitty has collaborated
with Sharon Mansur since 1994.
Maré
Hieronimus (Performing Artist) is Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary
dance artist, performer and teacher who has worked with Sharon
Mansur/mansurdance since 2001. Maré was nominated for Outstanding
Individual Performer in a Dance Piece/Production through the
Metro DC Dance Awards for her work with Sharon in Still
Life. Her own work weaves together her interests in movement,
light, sound, poetry/story, and human perceptual awareness.
Maré received her BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of
Design, her MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College, and is

Erica
Rebollar was born in Madrid and studied various dance forms,
culminating in a MFA in choreography from UCLA's World Arts
and Cultures department. She has collaborated in various companies
such as Solo Dance Company of Indonesia, Namah Ensemble, Carol
McDowell, and Trip Dance Company, with various tours throughout
Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America. Erica is a three-time
nominee of Lestor Horton awards in performance and choreography
and has work commissioned from Brigham Young University. She
recently relocated to DC from New York, where she founded Rebollar
Dance Theater and received artist residencies through Mabou
Mines at PS 122 and Movement Research at St. Mark's Church.
She is happy to work with Sharon Mansur as a new company member.

Marcy
Schlissel (Performing Artist) has been dancing since inside
the womb and continues her investigations to this day. As the
proud owner of Body In Motion Pilates Studio in NYC, she is
forever fascinated by teaching movement and witnessing how thoughts
and emotions reside inside the physical body. Her studies of
Improv, Laban, Yoga, GYROTONIC, Pilates, Somatics, and the art
of watching people, have and continue to deepen her practice
of moving, teaching, and mindfulness. Marcy is currently performing
and collaborating with Maré Hieronimus. She has been exploring

Ginger
Wagg (Performing Artist)
is an East Coast based performing artist focused on improvisation
collaboration, and cooperation. She is committed to bringing
visibility to experimental performance by using unusual and
alternative venues. Her favorites so far have been a parked
city bus, a record store and bathtubs/bathroom stalls! Ginger
is a two-time recipient of the Young Artist Grant from the DC
Commission on the Arts and Humanities. In addition to her own
projects and those with collaborator Jane Jerardi (DC) she has
performed with Daniel Burkholder/the PlayGround (DC), Shua Group
(NYC), and Agata Olek (NYC). Ginger is honored to have danced
with sm/md since 2002.
Boris Willis (Video Editor) is a movement and video artist.
He has an MFA in Dance and Technology from The Ohio State University,
a BFA in dane from George Mason University, and a Diploma in
dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts. His choreography
has been performed at The John F. Kennedy Center (DC), Dance
Place (DC), the Goose Route Jazz & Dance Festival (WV),
Next Stage (NYC), the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (PA), and
online at danceaday.com. Boris has performed with STREB, Liz
Lerman/Dance Exchange, Jacob's Pillow Men Dancers, among others
