I instigated this project in early 2023 to embody a creative exploration of walking. I have long been interested how everyday actions, relationships, and environments convey artistic and personal expression via body, space, time and energy. Walking supports our daily human existence on so many levels, and there is also a long history of artists embracing this universal pedestrian action to illuminate and support meaning making in life. tracings consists of a series of experiments throughout the year: *a solo nature walking practice through the Driftless region of SE MN *research into a wide range of others' walking investigations and contemplations *invited 1:1 walks and conversations with a range of Winona community members *group walks in Granite Falls, MN & Winona, MN *development of a short dance film and zine reflecting this process *community sharing at the Winona Arts Center
